Albania at international film industry market “Marché du Film”

TIRANA, May 21 – The Marché du Film concluded in Cannes, with Albania and Kosova represented through a joint stand by the National Cinematography Center of Albania and the Cinematography Center of Kosova.

The Marché du Film, held within the Cannes Film Festival framework, functions as the festival’s business market and as the largest international film market globally. It takes place every May in Cannes, France, where global film rights are bought, sold, and financed. It also serves as a central meeting point for the international film industry.

The event attracted more than 14,000 professionals from over 140 countries. It included sales agents and distributors working on completed films and projects in production. It hosted more than 1,500 screenings of completed films, documentaries, and works in development.

During the event, the National Cinematography Center of Albania held meetings with international film institutions and industry stakeholders. The discussions focused on Albania’s new cinema and audiovisual law, which drew strong interest from participants.

The National Cinematography Center of Albania said the participation reinforced Albania’s positioning in the global film industry and supported expanded co-productions and international partnerships.
