Malaj: Albania’s Inflation Hits 2.9% in September, Below EU Average

Albania recorded an annual inflation rate of 2.9% in September, below the European Union average, Finance Minister Petrit Malaj said, pointing to the resilience of the country’s economy amid price pressures.

In a social media post, Malaj highlighted measures the government has introduced to monitor prices and protect household purchasing power. These include the reinstatement of the Transparency Board to oversee fuel prices and the option of cutting excise duties to ease the impact of rising costs.

Malaj also highlighted the Price Dashboard, which allows consumers to compare prices for everyday products and helps improve market transparency.

The government aims to keep prices stable and safeguard Albanian families’ purchasing power, the minister said.
