Atlas Corporation acquires Edil Centro: A strategic move in business expansion

One of the latest developments attracting attention in Albanian business circles involves Atlas Corporation. Without major public attention, the ATLAS Group has finalized the acquisition of Edil Centro, a move that is being seen as another signal of the growing strength of Albanian companies to invest in and further develop industries with an established history in the local market.

Earlier this year, Atlas Corporation completed the acquisition process of Edil Centro, a company specialized in the production of bricks and roof tiles, located in the Lapraka area and operating on a property of approximately 80,000 square meters. The deal is already being considered one of the more notable recent developments in Albania’s private sector.

At a time when the Albanian market continues to face economic challenges and increasing regional competition, investments of this scale are being interpreted as signs of a new phase for Albanian businesses. Companies are no longer focusing on a single industry alone, but are building diversified and long-term corporate structures. Atlas Corporation’s expansion into the construction industry is being viewed within this broader strategy.

Over the years, Atlas Corporation has established a strong presence across several strategic sectors of the Albanian economy. In the food industry, the group is known through brands such as Atlas Mills and Ola Foods. The latter recently gained international attention through its participation at TuttoFood in Milan, where the company created new connections and attracted interest from international partners. In agriculture, the group operates through Besniku Shpk, one of the best-known companies in Albania’s agricultural inputs market. In the energy sector, Atlas Energy manages investments in hydropower and solar energy, while the group has also expanded into urban development and construction through Atlas Development.

For this reason, the acquisition of Edil Centro is being viewed as part of Atlas Corporation’s wider long-term expansion strategy. The construction materials industry remains an important sector for the Albanian economy, and moves like this reflect how Albanian businesses are increasingly focused on building large corporate groups with a presence across multiple industries at the same time.

With this acquisition, Atlas Corporation adds another important company to its investment portfolio, further strengthening its position as one of the Albanian groups with the broadest presence across different sectors of the country’s economy.
