Renovation works at Bënja Baths are continuing. The site is located about 14 kilometers from the city of Përmet. It lies in the Petran administrative unit, near the meeting point of the Vjosa River and the Lengarica stream.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said the transformation will be completed soon. He said the site will become a modern tourist destination in the heart of nature.
First, the project includes organized parking areas. Then, it adds bicycle lanes and panoramic viewpoints over the canyon. In addition, it builds an organized entrance and public bathing facilities. It also includes a health center.
At the same time, workers are installing flooring and decorative wooden elements near the pools. They are shaping the area to match the natural environment.
Currently, construction teams are working on the final interior and structural details. The thermal waters remain one of the site’s key attractions. The temperature ranges between 26°C and 32°C.
Moreover, the area offers a mix of nature, history and adventure. Visitors can explore the Lengarica Canyon. They can also visit the Katiu Bridge, a cultural monument.
As a result, Bënja Baths are expected to become a key destination for sustainable tourism in southern Albania.
