TIRANA, May 25 – The Vatican has awarded Albanian ambassador to the Holy See Majlinda Frangaj the title “Dame Grand Cross of the Piano Order”, one of the highest civil decorations of the Holy See.
The Piano Order was founded by Pope Pius IX. It is considered one of the most prestigious honors of the Holy See. It is granted to a limited number of figures in diplomacy, culture, humanitarian work, and international public life. The Grand Cross represents its highest rank.
The decree grants Frangaj the right to carry the official insignia of the order. It recognizes her role in promoting dialogue and cooperation between Albania and the Holy See.
Majlinda Frangaj has served as Albania’s ambassador to the Vatican since 2023. The award marks a significant moment in bilateral relations between Albania and the Holy See.
