TIRANA, May 29 – Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha held an official visit to Rome, where Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani received him at Palazzo della Farnesina.
Meanwhile, Hoxha described the meeting as highly important in a post on X. He said Albania and Italy share a deep and structured partnership based on historical ties, friendship between the two peoples and a common strategic vision.
In addition, the Albanian minister said both sides reaffirmed strong cooperation in political dialogue, European integration, security, defence, migration, energy, economy, tourism and culture.
Hoxha also said Italy remains Albania’s main trading partner and a strategic investor in key development sectors.
At the same time, the minister thanked Rome for its continued support for Albania’s European Union membership process. He described Italy as one of the strongest supporters of Albania’s European future and that of the Western Balkans.
According to Hoxha, both countries remain committed to strengthening their strategic partnership in support of citizens, regional stability and a stronger Europe.
Finally, the Albanian foreign minister thanked Tajani for the hospitality and discussions during the meeting in Rome.
