Spring Festival nears as artists complete final rehearsals

TIRANA, May 29 – The Spring Festival entered its final preparation phase ahead of the June 6-7 shows on Albanian Public Radio and Television.

Meanwhile, organisers published the 20 competing songs on the broadcaster’s official YouTube channel on May 28. The songs drew hundreds of views and reactions within hours after release.

In addition, the online publication increased public interest in the festival’s return after two decades. Audiences can now listen to all competing entries before the live performances.

Festival scriptwriter Genc Salihu said the competition features strong artistic material. Salihu said he expected the positive public reaction after listening to the songs for the first time. According to him, the festival includes rhythmic songs and a variety of musical genres. He also said the competition stands above the average level of a typical festival selection.

At the same time, Salihu said the event will include several surprises. He confirmed that singer Bleona Qereti and actor Nik Xhelilaj will host the festival.

However, he said organisers do not want to reveal every detail before the shows. He added that legendary Albanian artists will return to the stage with some of the festival’s best-known songs from past editions.

Meanwhile, preparations continue at Albanian Public Radio and Television. Salihu said the broadcaster’s long experience with music productions has helped organisers complete the process on schedule.

The Spring Festival will air exclusively on Albanian Public Radio and Television on June 6 and 7.
