Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the clashes that occurred a day earlier in the Zvërnec area, where residents protesting the construction of a resort were reportedly assaulted by security guards employed by a private company.
In a post on X, Rama stated that he would speak the following day about what he described as “an extraordinary project for Albania.” He also praised the State Police for their response to both the private security guards involved in the incident and the local police leadership in Vlora.
“Tomorrow, it will be my turn to speak about an extraordinary project for Albania, which has been in development for several years and has absolutely nothing to do with some of the major falsehoods that have circulated in recent days.
In the meantime, I congratulate the leadership of the State Police for their swift and appropriate response, both toward that gang of brainless thugs operating under the status of private security guards, and toward the local police leaders in Vlora. The new approach of zero tolerance toward any member of the blue uniform who undermines public trust is the right one.
As for the project itself, and the truths and untruths surrounding it, there will be more information tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. Live, for all interested parties, of course,” Rama stated.
