Saranda bypass set for completion next year to ease traffic

Work on the Saranda bypass is progressing rapidly, with completion expected next year.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared new footage of the construction site and said the project would reduce traffic and make travel easier for residents and tourists.

The project, known as the “Sixth Road”, includes the construction of a tunnel. It aims to ease congestion, especially during the busy summer tourist season.

The new road will also improve access to nearby tourist destinations, make travel through Saranda smoother and support the local economy.

Once completed, the bypass is expected to improve daily life for residents and provide a better travel experience for the thousands of visitors who come to the coastal city each year.
