Amantia Fest Promotes Cultural and Tourism Values in Selenica

TIRANA, June 1 – The ancient Archaeological Park of Amantia hosted cultural, artistic, and sports events this weekend in Selenica. The event highlighted the historical, cultural, and tourism values of the area.

The annual “Amantia Fest” brought together citizens, visitors, and artists. The Municipality of Selenica organized the activities. They included polyphonic singing, traditional games, and local gastronomy. The event aimed to promote cultural heritage and tourism development in the region.

Selenica Mayor Nertil Bellaj said “Amantia Fest” has become a yearly tradition held in the last weekend of May. He said the site represents an important historical and cultural asset for both Selenica and Albania. He underlined growing efforts to promote archaeological tourism, especially as Amantia attracts increasing numbers of foreign visitors.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Relations Eriona Ismaili attended the event. She said such activities help promote cultural and archaeological sites and support local development through tourism, including guesthouses, farms, and agrotourism. She also stressed the importance of unity and cooperation in strengthening communities and preserving national identity.

The revival of cultural and social life in heritage areas remains a key factor in promoting tourism and protecting historical sites.
