Prime Minister Edi Rama said the government is driving Vlora toward a new era of tourism development. He stated that by 2030, Vlora will become one of the Mediterranean’s top tourist destinations.
Speaking at the Socialist Party’s 35th anniversary event in Elbasan, Rama highlighted the impact of government investments in infrastructure and urban development. He said these projects have transformed the city and increased its tourism potential.
“We will bring Albania into the world tourism champions league by 2030,” Rama said.
He stressed that government investments have laid the foundation for Vlora’s continued growth. He added that the city is on track to become a leading destination in the Mediterranean.
Meanwhile, Rama reaffirmed the government’s commitment to tourism and European integration. He said the government won the elections with a mandate to take Albania into the European Union.
He also announced that Albania aims to complete EU accession negotiations by the end of 2027. He noted that the next parliamentary elections will take place in 2029, while local elections will be held next year.
In addition, Rama said the government will expand tourism projects in Zvërnec and other key destinations across the country.
He emphasized that strategic investments in tourism and infrastructure will strengthen the economy, create jobs, and improve living standards.
In conclusion, Rama said the government will continue pursuing EU membership and tourism development to secure Albania’s long-term growth and prosperity.
