Speaker Peleshi meets Greek Parliament Deputy Speaker and European Affairs Chair Plakiotakis in Athens on EU integration

TIRANA, June 10 – Speaker of Parliament Niko Peleshi met Ioannis Plakiotakis in Athens. Plakiotakis serves as Chair of the European Affairs Committee and First Deputy Speaker of the Greek Parliament.

The talks focused on strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Albania and Greece and supporting Albania’s European Union integration process. Both sides assessed bilateral relations positively and highlighted parliamentary diplomacy as a key tool for advancing cooperation and the European agenda in the region.

Peleshi expressed appreciation for Greece’s continued support for Albania’s European Union membership bid. He described this support as a strategic investment in the region’s shared European future. He said Albania’s integration, together with Western Balkan countries, remains central for economic development and stability, while also supporting citizens and strengthening the European project.

The meeting reaffirmed commitment to continued dialogue and closer parliamentary cooperation in support of shared European objectives.
