“Le Routard” guide highlights Albania as an emerging destination of nature, culture and hospitality

TIRANA, June 11 – The French travel guide “Le Routard” presents Albania as an emerging European destination that combines natural landscapes, cultural heritage and authentic local experiences. In a feature published by “Le Guide du Routard,” journalist Noemie Adler describes the country as gaining growing international attention while remaining largely outside mass tourism flows.

The publication portrays Albania as a mosaic of landscapes, traditions and cultural identities. It also includes detailed itineraries, recommended locations and practical travel advice that aim to guide visitors toward an authentic experience rooted in local reality.

At the same time, “Le Routard” describes Albania as a dynamic country where historical heritage and modern development coexist. Visitors can explore major monuments and observe ongoing urban transformation, particularly in Tirana. In addition, the guide highlights Albanian hospitality as a defining national feature widely recognised by international travellers. It also refers to local cuisine shaped by Mediterranean and Balkan influences.

Meanwhile, the guide identifies Albania’s natural environment as its strongest asset. It points to lakes, mountainous terrain and a coastline exceeding 400 kilometres as key elements of its tourism appeal.

Furthermore, recommendations include the Pyramid of Tirana, the Et’hem Bey Mosque, the Albanian Riviera, Lake Ohrid areas including Lin and Pogradec, and Përmet, known for its “slow food” culture.

Overall, “Le Routard” concludes that Albania combines nature, culture and authenticity, positioning the country as an increasingly attractive destination for European travellers.
