The National Center for Traditional Activities opened the exhibition “Vazhdimësi” in Tirana, highlighting craftsmanship as both art and living cultural heritage.
The exhibition focuses on Albanian handicrafts as one of the most authentic forms of cultural heritage and artistic creation.
Curator Erilda Selaj, also director of the National Center for Traditional Activities, said the institution will continue to prioritize support for Albanian artisans.
The exhibition remains open at “Vila 31” until June 13.
It brings together works by a group of artists and artisans and creates a dialogue between tradition and contemporary expression. The exhibition raises key questions about the boundary between craftsmanship and art. It asks where mastery ends and art begins.
The displayed works show that art emerges from everyday life. It grows from the silent work of hands, family memory, and skills passed down through generations.
The pieces demonstrate that, although artistic forms evolve over time, craftsmanship remains the foundation of cultural identity.
Artisans present traditional embroidery, textile work, and other handcrafted techniques. They also adapt these traditions through modern creative approaches.
