Selenicë hosts first school folklore festival “Brez pas brezi”

Selenicë hosted the first edition of the school folklore festival “Brez pas brezi” today in Gjorm, Brataj administrative unit.

More than 100 students from schools in Gjorm, Kotë, Armen, Selenicë, Vllahinë, and Sevaster took part in the festival. They performed traditional songs and dances from the Labëria region and highlighted the area’s cultural heritage.

The Municipality of Selenicë organized the festival in cooperation with the Local Education Office and the Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage in Vlorë.

The event showcased the spiritual and cultural traditions of the region. Traditional costumes and performances added color and authenticity to the stage.

County Council Chair Ervis Moçka greeted participants during the event. Meanwhile, Mayor Nertil Bellaj presented the festival awards.

The jury awarded first place to “Hamdi Rrapi” School of Gjorm. “Mynyr Xhindi” School of Vllahinë received second place, while “Qani Ramadani” School of Sevaster placed third.

Organizers said the festival highlighted the role of young people in preserving and passing down cultural heritage from generation to generation.
