TIRANA, June 29 – Supreme Court President Sokoli Sadushi spoke at the National Conference on the interaction between the justice system and the media. He said justice requires integrity, impartiality and public responsibility.
Meanwhile, he called for deeper reflection on the role and responsibilities of magistrates in carrying out their duties. He said magistrates must work with high professionalism and full integrity. He added that public trust forms the foundation of judicial authority. He stressed that justice cannot function without it.
At the same time, Sadushi said entering the profession means accepting public responsibility. He said this responsibility requires knowledge, character and awareness of the impact of justice on people’s lives. He added that legal knowledge marks only the beginning of a magistrate’s career. He said the real challenge lies in preserving truth and resisting external pressure.
He underlined that justice rests on lasting values rather than momentary developments. He said integrity and ethics outweigh temporary circumstances. He also stressed impartiality as a core judicial quality. He said each case reflects a complex human reality involving individuals, families, businesses and public interests. He added that difficult decisions often emerge from human circumstances and public pressure rather than legal ambiguity. He said humility must accompany legal expertise.
Meanwhile, Sadushi noted that magistrates work in an environment shaped by fast information flow and strong public perception. He said judges must serve the law rather than seek public approval. Finally, he said the profession includes moments of isolation and challenge. He said inner strength and professional calm define judicial authority.
