Albania continues to battle wildfires across several parts of the country. The Ministry of Defense reported 20 wildfires across the country by 20:00. Seven remain active, while authorities continue to monitor three others.
A total of 284 operational personnel and 33 firefighting vehicles are supporting the response. The Armed Forces have also deployed 80 personnel and two Air Force helicopters.
The main active fires are affecting Tirana, Dibër, Korçë, and Durrës counties.
In the Dajti area toward Qafë-Priskë, 15 firefighters, nine protected-area officers, and 20 military personnel are working to contain the fire. A helicopter is also supporting the operation.
Dibër has the largest deployment. Authorities have sent 38 firefighters and 30 military personnel to Vajkal. Another 91 personnel are working in Sllatinë.
Fires also remain active in Lundër, Mat, where an Armed Forces helicopter supported the response, and in Ballenjë, Martanesh, inside a protected area.
In Qafë e Lugut, Vithkuq, authorities will monitor a forest fire overnight. Difficult terrain prevents crews from safely intervening during late hours.
In Zallë, Fushë-Krujë, crews brought a reactivated fire under control. Firefighters, municipal teams, and 30 Armed Forces personnel took part in the operation. Authorities reported no threat to residential areas.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to monitor fires on Dardha Mountain and Qukës Mountain. Crews completely extinguished the fires in Strikçan and Nivicë during the day.
The National Civil Protection Agency continues to monitor the situation across Albania. It coordinates closely with prefectures, municipalities, and other civil protection structures.
Operational teams remain on the ground and ready to intervene where necessary. Authorities continue to prioritize the protection of lives, homes, and citizens’ property.
