Albanian citizens can now rate consular services online as part of a new initiative aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of services.
Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha announced the new evaluation system on Wednesday. Starting today, citizens can scan a QR code at any location where consular services are provided.
The QR codes will be available at service counters, waiting areas, the ministry, diplomatic missions, and Albanian consulates abroad. After scanning the code, citizens can complete a short evaluation form.
“With a simple scan, citizens can share their impressions of the service, highlight problems or concerns, and, above all, tell us what we can do differently, better, and faster,” Hoxha said in a video message.
Meanwhile, Hoxha described the QR code as an open channel between citizens and institutions. It will allow authorities to better understand citizens’ experiences and identify areas that need improvement.
“Tell us what does not work, suggest what we can improve, and we will work to do better,” Hoxha said.
Furthermore, he stressed that consular services go beyond administrative procedures. They represent a direct point of contact between the state and citizens.
“At that point of contact, the state must provide services that are fast, simple, accessible, professional, and responsible,” Hoxha said.
As a result, the new system aims to give citizens a more direct role in evaluating consular services while helping institutions identify problems and improve their performance.
