Albania ranks among the 10 most preferred destinations outside the European Union for EU residents, according to Eurostat data.
The Agency for Media and Information cited Eurostat figures showing around 2 million trips to Albania that included at least one overnight stay. These trips accounted for 2% of all journeys made by EU residents outside the EU.
The figures place Albania among the most popular non-EU destinations for European travelers. The country shares the ranking with several well-known destinations around the world, including the United Kingdom, Türkiye, the United States, Switzerland, Norway, Egypt, Morocco and Thailand.
Meanwhile, Albania continues to attract large numbers of European visitors with its coastline, cultural heritage and natural landscapes. Tirana, the Albanian Riviera and other tourism destinations have strengthened the country’s profile among international travelers.
The Eurostat data also underline the importance of European visitors for Albania’s tourism sector. With around 2 million trips recorded, Albania has secured a strong position among destinations outside the EU.
At the same time, the ranking places Albania alongside established tourism markets that attract millions of European travelers each year. This position highlights the country’s growing presence on the European tourism map and its increasing appeal as an international holiday destination.
