Albania cuts maximum retail prices for diesel and petrol

Albania’s Transparency and Temporary Price Limitation Board has cut the maximum retail prices for fuel. The new ceiling is ALL 210 per litre for diesel and ALL 190 per litre for petrol. Both prices fell by ALL 3.

The Board also set new wholesale price limits. Diesel meeting the SSH EN 590 standard cannot exceed ALL 198 per litre. The maximum wholesale price for petrol stands at ALL 178 per litre.

Meanwhile, the new prices took effect on October 7 at 11:30. They will remain in place until the Board’s next meeting. The Board will review market developments and set new prices at that meeting.

The Board warned wholesale and retail operators to comply with the decision. Authorities may suspend operators that violate the rules. The Economy and Innovation Ministry, Finance Ministry, and Infrastructure and Energy Ministry said they remain committed to protecting consumers and fair competition.
