Albanian Book Fair “Shkupi 2026” Celebrates Literary Excellence with Prestigious Awards in North Macedonia

The Albanian Book Fair “Shkupi 2026” took place from 4–7 June in Skanderbeg Square in Shkup. First, it became a major cultural hub for Albanian literature and publishing. It brought together publishers, authors, researchers, and readers from Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia.

Next, the fair hosted book promotions and literary discussions. It organized cultural activities and meetings with well-known figures of Albanian literature. As a result, it created a vibrant and festive atmosphere over four days.

Then, the organizers announced the main literary awards for 2025 works.

The award for Best Prose – 2025 went to writer Namik Dokle for the novel “Asnjë trokitje në qiell”.

In addition, the Best Poetry – 2025 award went to poet Resul Shabani for “Ëndërr e falur”.

Moreover, the Best Study – 2025 award went to researcher Kujtim Shala for “Epi i shqiptarëve”.

Similarly, the Best Translation – 2025 award went to translator Ana Kove for her translation of Hermann Hesse’s works into Albanian.

Furthermore, the Best Children’s Book award went to writer Rovena Rrozhani for “Sekreti i fshehur në libra”.

After that, the Career Award went to writer and publisher Abdullah Zeneli.

Finally, the Special Award was given posthumously to poet Linditë Ahmeti, while the jury included Ali Aliu, Arta Marku, and Behar Gjoka.
