Albania’s central bank governor and French economic official discuss stronger cooperation

Bank of Albania Governor Gent Sejko met Pierre Sentenac, the new head of the Regional Economic Department at the French Embassy, at the central bank. Sejko highlighted Albania’s close relations with France and described France as an important European partner.

Sejko briefed Sentenac on recent economic and financial developments in Albania. He said the economy continues to perform positively and that key indicators of economic, monetary and financial stability remain stable. He also highlighted the central bank’s role in maintaining price stability and strengthening financial stability.

Meanwhile, Sentenac praised the Bank of Albania’s work to maintain macroeconomic and financial stability. He also highlighted Albania’s recent progress as an important achievement on its path toward European integration.

The two officials also discussed tourism as an important driver of economic growth. They highlighted increased bank financing for tourism-related activities and the importance of sustainable development in the sector. They also discussed Albania’s economic prospects during its European Union integration process and the need for stronger institutional cooperation.

Sejko and Sentenac reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation between the Bank of Albania and French institutions, particularly on economic and financial issues of common interest.
