Bënja thermal waters in Përmet attract tourists even in autumn

TIRANA, November 8 /ATSH/ — With autumn painting the Langarica Valley in rich colors, the thermal waters of Bënja in Përmet remain a favorite escape for travelers looking to unwind in its peaceful natural springs.

The Bënja thermal springs are among Përmet’s most well-known natural attractions.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images today of Bënja thermal waters, which remained popular with tourists throughout this November weekend.

The fact that people visit even during the autumn adds a new dimension to tourism in the area, as visitors can experience the blend of warm thermal waters, crisp air and the distinct atmosphere of the autumn season.

In addition to the thermal springs, the visitors can explore the historic Kadiu Bridge—a cultural heritage monument—as well as the Langarica Canyon, renowned for its natural beauty, rock formations and striking landscapes.

The Bënja thermal springs are known for their mineral composition and their traditional use for relaxation. They are among the natural assets that have placed Përmet on the map for nature-based and wellness tourism.

Visited in every season, Bënja thermal waters demonstrate the area’s potential for tourism development well beyond the summer months, transforming Përmet into a year-round destination for nature-based experiences.

Bënja thermal waters in Përmet are currently undergoing an extensive redevelopment process, aimed at improving infrastructure, organizing the site, and creating better conditions for both local and international visitors.

The project—funded by the Albanian government through the Albanian Development Fund—seeks to develop this natural asset into a tourist destination that meets modern standards, while simultaneously preserving the environmental balance and the unique characteristics that make Bënja one of the most distinctive attractions in the country’s south.

There is work underway to transform the site into a true recreational area suitable for all ages. /k.s/a.f/p.s./
