Edi Rama: Socialist Party Has Always Put Albania’s National Interest First

Edi Rama said on Friday that the Socialist Party remains the only political force with a clear commitment to Albania’s national interest. He made the remarks during an event in Dibër marking the party’s 35th anniversary.

Rama said the party made a clear break from the past when it was founded. He said the Socialist Party has played an important role in Albania’s political life over the past three decades.

Rama also highlighted the party’s support for Kosovo during the liberation struggle. He said Socialist-led governments openly backed the Kosovo Liberation Army and supported Kosovo’s freedom.

Rama added that the party has always kept a clear view of Albania’s history. He said the Socialist Party supports democratic values while respecting the country’s past.

Rama also underlined the party’s European outlook. He said the Socialist Party promotes civil rights, respect and cooperation. He added that these values continue to guide Albania’s path forward.
