EU: New Special Prosecutor to be appointed swiftly, important for the Special Court to work without interference

The European Commission spokesperson issued a press release on Thursday after the Specialist Prosecutor David Schwendiman announced end of his term. According to the EU Schwendiman’s successor will be selected swiftly as foreseen by the law whereas emphasised that it is important for the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office to do their work independently, without any outside interference.
