TIRANA, May 11 – The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 turquoise carpet turned into a parade of colours, emotions, and international presentations, with 35 countries taking part in the opening event attended by global media and fans.
At the same time, Albania joined the ceremony with Alis Kallaçi as this year’s representative. He attracted attention with an elegant appearance and a strong artistic identity. Organisers gave him a warm reception, while he appeared smiling and energetic, gave interviews to international media, and spoke about his song “Nan”, which combines emotional themes with traditional Albanian elements and modern sounds.
Earlier, Alis secured his Eurovision entry after winning the Festival of Song at Albanian Radio and Television. That victory earned him a place on Europe’s biggest music stage. Meanwhile, the song “Nan” received positive reactions from both local audiences and Eurovision fans, and it stands among the most distinctive entries of this year’s edition.

With a mix of tradition and modern style, Albania enters Eurovision 2026 with a clearer artistic identity, while the turquoise carpet marks the beginning of its journey toward the main stage.
