A large audience in Tirana attended the premiere of the film “Më çoni në Qafë të Botës të shoh Çamërinë” (“Take Me to Qafë e Botës to See Chameria”).
The film is a production by the Çamëria Foundation “Hasan Tahsini” and Alket Veliu. It is written by Luan Rama and directed by Pandeli Çeço.
Furthermore, the film tells a human and historical story about longing for one’s homeland. It uses strong cinematic metaphors to express memory, loss, and identity.
In addition, the narrative highlights the emotional connection to Chameria through symbolic imagery. It shows how history and human experience intertwine through art and memory.
The film’s visual style, use of color, lighting, camera angles, and editing create a strong emotional impact. As a result, it conveys feelings of injustice and historical pain.
Moreover, producer Alket Veliu said the film powerfully presents the suffering and deprivation of the Cham population.
He emphasized that the screenplay by Luan Rama captures these experiences with artistic skill and sensitivity.
Meanwhile, writer Luan Rama said the film is based on historical and personal truth. He explained that real-life encounters inspired the story.
He recalled meeting an elderly woman from Konispol whose mother had left Filat in Chameria during the ethnic cleansing. She longed to see her homeland again.
Furthermore, he shared that the woman’s final wish was to see Chameria once more. She was taken near the border before she passed away peacefully a week later.
Finally, the film will be screened throughout June, during “The Month of Chameria,” in Skopje, Vlora, Saranda, Konispol, and other cities.
