Foreign Minister Hoxha congratulates new Kosova president

Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, congratulated newly elected Kosova President Justina Shiroka-Pula. He described her election as an important moment for democracy in Kosova and evidence of the maturity of its democratic institutions.

Hoxha said the development responds to the need to further strengthen institutions, consolidate state-building achievements and advance Kosova’s European and Euro-Atlantic path. He also stressed that citizens’ and the state’s interests should remain above political divisions.

“Dialogue, understanding and finding common ground on issues of national interest are signs of democratic maturity and institutional responsibility,” Hoxha said.

Meanwhile, Hoxha reaffirmed Albania’s support for Kosova’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. He said Albania would continue to support its progress, international standing and efforts toward full integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic family. Hoxha also wished Shiroka-Pula success in serving the Republic of Kosova and its citizens.
