Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha said today that Albania’s EU integration process is moving forward through merit, reforms, and lasting institutional change.
In a post on X, Hoxha referred to progress in Albania’s negotiations with the European Union after the 8th Intergovernmental Conference on IBAR.
Hoxha said that on October 14, 2024, Albania had not opened any negotiation chapters. Just 11 months later, on November 17, 2025, the country opened all 33 chapters.
“The colors on the enlargement wall are changing again. They will soon turn green, the final stage before becoming blue by 2030,” Hoxha said.
He stressed that Albania’s path to EU membership will remain credible only if the country earns it through merit, real reforms, and a European mindset.
“What once seemed distant or impossible is now becoming reality step by step, reform by reform, and commitment by commitment,” he added.
Hoxha thanked Albania’s negotiating team, Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos, and the European Commission for their support and commitment to the integration process. He also thanked the current Cypriot presidency of the EU Council and member states for their partnership and support.
He said Albania will continue working until it fully completes the EU membership process under the “Horizon 2030” objective.
“We will not stop until the work is done, because for Albania this is the road to our future, and all roads lead to Brussels,” Hoxha concluded.
