Ibrahimaj: New EU-Aligned Bills to Boost Market Transparency and Fair Trade

The Albanian government approved two draft laws to advance the country’s European Union integration process.

Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj said the new legislation will increase transparency in financial markets and improve commercial relations.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation drafted the bills as part of the EU negotiation chapters under its responsibility. Ibrahimaj said the measures will support economic growth and make business practices more transparent.

The first bill strengthens transparency requirements for securities issuers. The Financial Supervisory Authority will oversee its implementation. The law fully aligns with EU legislation.

The bill strengthens capital markets, improves the business environment, and requires issuers to publish more information and reports.

The government also approved a second bill on late payments in commercial contracts. The law aligns with EU directives and promotes fair business practices.

The bill sets clearer payment deadlines and helps businesses meet their contractual obligations on time.
