“Pilgrims’ Day” Brings Lezhë to Life on Summer Nights

“Pilgrims’ Day”, a celebration honoring Albanian emigrants, has become a popular tradition in Lezhë. Thousands of tourists and residents gathered in Gjergj Kastrioti Square to celebrate.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images from the festivities on social media. He highlighted the lively atmosphere across Lezhë during the summer nights.

Every year, the Municipality of Lezhë organizes a series of events around August 15. The celebrations honor Albanians who live abroad and return to their hometowns during the summer.

The festivities also marked the end of a two-week cultural program. Organizers held events every evening in the city’s central square. Thousands of residents, visitors and emigrants joined the celebrations.

Moreover, “Pilgrims’ Day” brings together Albanians living in the country and those living abroad. It turns the summer return to their homeland into a shared celebration.
