Prime Minister Edi Rama, together with Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Enea Karakaçi and Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH) Director Ami Kozeli, inspected the construction site of the Tirana Bypass. They emphasized that work on the project is progressing rapidly.
Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Enea Karakaçi stated that more than 50 percent of the construction work has been completed so far.
“We have completed over 50 percent of the work. This road section will serve as a strategic hub for road infrastructure, connecting the routes of the Blue Corridor, as well as the Tirana–Durrës and Tirana–Elbasan highways. It will eliminate the need to enter Tirana when traveling south.
The project is scheduled for completion in September 2027, but our goal is to finish ahead of schedule.
An important aspect is that this is an integrated project. We are not simply building a highway, but also ensuring connections between all surrounding villages and administrative units. The project does not leave these communities or their residents behind,” Karakaçi said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized during the inspection that the project would help relieve the capital of excessive traffic congestion.
“Everyone should know that this will significantly increase the value of their properties. All expropriations will be carried out properly and in accordance with the law.
This road will relieve the capital of the excessive traffic burden caused by the absence of such a route.
Part of the traffic flow will be able to continue freely toward the south, while the remaining traffic will benefit from easier access to and from the capital,” Rama said.
