Prime Minister Rama Visits Germany, Attends Charlemagne Prize Ceremony

Prime Minister Edi Rama will pay a visit to Aachen, Germany, on May 13 and 14 to attend the traditional ceremony of the Charlemagne Prize, considered one of Europe’s most prestigious honors since 1950 for individuals and institutions with outstanding contributions to the unity and progress of Europe.

This year, the Charlemagne Prize 2026 will be awarded to former President of the European Central Bank and former Prime Minister of Italy, Professor Mario Draghi, in recognition of his decisive role in preserving the stability of the European Monetary Union.

At the same time, this award also conveys a clear political message: that Europe’s future, sovereignty, and strength are closely linked to its economic stability and resilience.
