TIRANA, November 6/ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama has issued another call for students to join the negotiating table, placing a stone table—symbolizing a traditional communal dining surface—in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, along with invitations bearing the word “Dialogue.”
Meanwhile, the youth protest continues, with students sharing differing views. Some have returned to their lecture halls, while others continue to call for the suspension of classes and the mobilization of students to join the protest.
So far, the protesters have refused the prime minister’s invitations for dialogue, demanding his resignation instead.
On the other hand, Rama has expressed openness to student and faculty proposals, noting that the government is developing a suite of measures to address their concerns.
Today, the Prime Minister will launch a new online dialogue platform designed to address the genuine concerns of all citizens.
During a press conference with the EU Ambassador in Tirana Sofia Moreira de Sousa yesterday, Rama said that three student groups wanted to meet with him but withdrew after being threatened.
