Speaker Peleshi in Madrid: Spain continues support for Albania’s EU membership process

TIRANA, May 26 – Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi held a meeting in Madrid on Tuesday with the Speaker of the Spanish Congress of Deputies, Francina Armengol.

During the meeting, Peleshi discussed relations between Albania and Spain. In addition, he highlighted Spain’s continued support for Albania’s European Union membership process.

At the same time, the talks focused on stronger parliamentary cooperation for legal approximation and EU integration procedures. The discussion also covered Euro-Atlantic partnership and broader bilateral cooperation in the economy, investment, education, culture, tourism, and environmental protection.

Meanwhile, Peleshi underlined the role of parliaments in strengthening ties between the two countries. He said Albania remains committed to its European path and considers the support of partner countries an important value in the integration process.
