The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, chaired a meeting of the interinstitutional task force for the 2026 summer tourism season.
The task force coordinated measures to ensure a smooth and safe tourist season across Albania. Officials focused on key priorities such as beach safety, waste management, food safety, health services, and traffic control.
Authorities also discussed the regulation of watercraft distances from beaches. They addressed noise pollution, which remains a recurring problem in both coastal and residential areas.
In addition, the meeting highlighted the need for stronger beach surveillance. Lifeguard coverage, emergency response, and public safety systems were central topics.
Gonxhja stressed that coordination between institutions is essential. He said all agencies must use their resources more efficiently. He also called for stronger presence in areas with high tourist flow.
Furthermore, he said real-time monitoring and reporting will be a key tool. This system will track problems and allow faster responses from local and central authorities.
He added that all measures will be reported to the government and municipalities. This will ensure quicker action and better management of emergencies.
Moreover, Gonxhja emphasized “zero tolerance” for recurring seasonal problems. He said institutions must act quickly to improve safety and service quality.
Finally, he said Albania has improved service standards across sectors. He highlighted continuous readiness in public health, food safety, and civil emergency response. He added that the goal is a successful and well-managed summer season.
