Tepelena municipality steps up efforts to keep public spaces clean

Tepelena Municipality has focused on cleaning and maintaining its territory throughout October. The work covers the city and its administrative units. The aim is to keep public spaces clean and improve the environment for residents and visitors.

Leonidha Shumeli, head of the central administrative unit, said the municipality had organised clean-up campaigns, starting in Bënça along the main road to Kurvelesh. He noted that Kurvelesh had become a major tourist attraction. Shumeli added that cleaning had become a regular practice and that municipal staff continued to monitor the work.

The municipality has also focused on maintaining public spaces, gardens and green areas. Shumeli said service teams were removing weeds and rehabilitating gardens across the city. They also apply chemical fertilisers to green spaces. The municipality maintains around 3 hectares of gardens, which service teams tend daily.

Cleaning and maintenance remain part of the municipality’s daily work. The aim is to extend these services throughout its territory.
