“Venetiku” Photo Exhibition Explores Memory and Human Stories at Marubi Museum

The photo exhibition “Venetiku: Tracing a Photographic Collection” will remain open to visitors this weekend at the Marubi National Museum of Photography in Shkodra.

Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja described the exhibition, curated by Mikaela Minga, as an encounter with photography, collective memory and the human stories behind the images.

Through photographs and archival documents, the exhibition traces the history of the Venetiku studio in Korçë and the family that founded and passed it down through generations. It also highlights Krisanthi Venetiku, the studio’s last representative, and the political persecution she faced under the communist regime, Gonxhja said.

The exhibition forms part of “Archivi Aperti 2026,” an international programme dedicated to discovering and promoting photographic archives.
