Exhibition of Salvador Dalí opens at COD with extraordinary surrealist collection

The Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD) opened a special exhibition today. It honors Salvador Dalí. It brings an extraordinary collection to Albania.

Prime Minister Edi Rama attended the ceremony. He called the event a special moment for art. He also praised the organizers.

The exhibition presents the Argillet Collection. Christine Argillet curated the archive. She selected rare engravings and drawings. The works date from 1930 to the late 1970s. Previously, museums around the world displayed them. Now COD hosts them in Tirana.

Moreover, Argillet shared personal insights. She described Dalí’s life and work. She highlighted the creative process. As a result, visitors gain deeper understanding.

Rama praised the initiative. He called it a new peak for COD. He credited passionate individuals. He described the collection as extraordinary. Therefore, he said the exhibition will enter the building’s history.

The collection shows Dalí’s unique methods. It includes illustrations and acid experiments. These works create delicate details. They also explore life and death. Thus, they reflect Dalí’s surrealism.

Argillet emphasized the family tradition. She included works from 1930 to 1972. She highlighted French influence. In addition, she noted Dalí’s illustrative elements.

The exhibition stays open until May 23. It offers a full visual experience. Finally, it welcomes Albanian visitors and foreign guests.
