Diaspora Summit IV: Albanians abroad say patriotism knows no distance

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs shared messages from Albanians worldwide. They participated in the fourth Diaspora Summit. They expressed strong emotional ties to their homeland.

Participants said distance does not weaken their sense of belonging. “Our hearts beat Albanian wherever we are,” they said.

Albanians living in Brussels, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, and Milan shared experiences. They highlighted strong emotions when hearing the national anthem or returning home.

A lawyer in Brussels said she becomes emotional to tears when she hears the anthem. She called for preserving this feeling.

Another participant from northern Germany attended after more than three decades abroad. He described the invitation as a great honor.

Diaspora representatives stressed the importance of such events. They said the summit strengthens ties with Albania. They also supported active involvement in the country’s development.

They praised Albanian institutions for building cooperation bridges. They also highlighted efforts to promote Albanian cultural heritage abroad.

Participants said their Albanian roots remain strong despite living abroad. They expressed readiness to contribute in education, culture, economy, and community organization.

The Diaspora Summit serves as a platform to unite Albanians worldwide. The fourth edition took place in Tirana from April 13 to 15.
