PM Rama meets Erdogan at Presidential Palace in Ankara

TIRANA, July 9 – Prime Minister Edi Rama met on Thursday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Palace, Cumhurbaskanlıgı Kulliyesi, in Ankara.

Rama shared images from the meeting on social media. He described Erdogan as a valued friend and said the talks followed the NATO Summit and took place within the framework of bilateral relations.

Earlier, Rama attended the NATO Summit in Ankara, where allied

leaders discussed current security challenges and the Alliance’s strategic priorities.

During the summit, the Albanian prime minister also joined the official welcome ceremony hosted by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and President Erdoğan. He held meetings with NATO leaders and the Alliance’s secretary general.

Meanwhile, the summit concluded with the decision to hold the next NATO Summit in Albania.

The Ankara meeting brought together leaders of NATO’s 32 member states and key partners. They discussed Europe’s defence capabilities, NATO defence spending targets, military modernization and continued support for Ukraine.
