TIRANA, August 17 – Albanian exports continued their positive trend in July 2026, reaching 33.7 billion ALL, up 10.6% from the same month a year earlier, according to INSTAT. Compared with June 2026, exports fell 5%. Meanwhile, goods imports reached 86.4 billion ALL, rising 3.6% year-on-year and 3.5% from June.
The trade deficit stood at 52.8 billion ALL in July. It fell 0.5% from July 2025 but increased 9.8% from June. Exports received their strongest support from building materials and metals, which contributed 8.9 percentage points to growth. Minerals, fuels and electricity followed with 5.3 percentage points, while machinery, equipment and spare parts added 0.9 percentage points.
However, textiles and footwear reduced export growth by 4.3 percentage points. Chemical and plastic products lowered it by another 0.6 percentage points. Imports received support from minerals, fuels and electricity, which contributed 1.5 percentage points to growth. Food, beverages and tobacco added 0.8 percentage points, while building materials and metals contributed 0.3 percentage points.
The latest INSTAT figures show continued annual growth in exports, driven particularly by building materials and metals, as well as minerals, fuels and electricity.
