US Ambassador on the Special Court: Leaders will be subject to specific and harsh consequences

Kosovo three top leaders, President Hashim Thaci, Speaker of Assembly Kadri Veseli, and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, were warned by the US Ambassador Greg Delawie that they would face serious consequences if continue backing the initiative on abrogation of the Special Court Law, which has been established to prosecute and try former members of the KLA. Delawie’s statement on Wednesday reiterated his criticism against plans on repealing the Special Court law. He said that Kosovo cannot be a country in which impunity is the norm, and accepting that reality would mean a return to Milosevic-era-style leadership.
