TIRANA, April 23 – Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu said Albania places women and girls at the centre of its technological transformation strategy. She spoke at a cybersecurity event marking International Girls in ICT Day, organised by the National Authority for Cyber Security.
Koçiu said Albania has developed around 1,300 digital public services available without waiting time. She said artificial intelligence and information technology help reduce historical development gaps and expand access to services.
The deputy prime minister referred to the “Albania 2030” programme and the 2022–2026 digital agenda. She said the frameworks aim to ensure equal access to digital services and strengthen participation in the technology sector.
Koçiu also addressed online safety risks affecting women and girls, citing international data on cyber harassment. She said further measures remain necessary to expand opportunities, improve digital inclusion and support safer online environments.
