TIRANA, April 22 – Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said the country has never been closer to the European Union during remarks at the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece.
He made the comments during a discussion with Alexis Papahelas, editor-in-chief of Kathimerini. Rama addressed Albania’s position in a shifting geopolitical environment and the role of small countries within alliances such as NATO.
Turning to regional dynamics, he said the Western Balkans now faces a more favourable moment for integration. Rama stressed that the region has gained visibility within the European Union and benefits from stronger regional cooperation.
He also noted that dialogue among Western Balkan leaders has improved over the past decade. Rama recalled that joint meetings among regional leaders became possible only in recent years, citing the 2014 Berlin gathering as a turning point.
