The Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA) has published “FactSheet Tourism”. The guide gives investors key data on Albania’s tourism sector and its investment potential.
According to the factsheet, Albania has recorded 12.5 million foreign tourists. Tourism contributes around 22% to the country’s GDP.
International hotel brands also operate in Albania. Their presence reflects growing interest in the country’s tourism market.
The guide also outlines tax incentives for accommodation businesses. These include a 6% VAT rate for accommodation and 0% profit tax for certain categories of facilities, subject to legal requirements.
Investors can also lease public land for up to 99 years. This measure aims to support long-term tourism projects and investment.
The factsheet provides information on strategic investments, the legal framework and the criteria for strategic investor status. It also explains simplified procedures for eligible projects.
AIDA also highlights Albania’s diverse tourism potential. The country offers historic cities, cultural heritage sites, national parks, beaches and natural areas. It also has opportunities for adventure tourism and outdoor sports.
“FactSheet Tourism” aims to give domestic and foreign investors a clear overview of the sector. It brings together key statistics, competitive advantages and investment opportunities in one guide.
The full factsheet is available on AIDA’s official website.
