The United States Ambassador to Athens paid a visit to Tirana, where she took part in the signing ceremony of an important agreement in the energy sector between Albania, international companies, and American partners.
The agreement предусматриes a 20-year contract for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States, with a total value of approximately $6 billion.
The Ambassador personally wrote about her visit to Tirana through a public statement on X, where she emphasized the strategic importance of this cooperation:
“I was honored to travel to Tirana to advance the U.S. President’s energy agenda and to join Prime Minister Edi Rama at the signing ceremony of a historic agreement between Albania, Venture Global, and Aktor LNG USA for a 20-year contract for liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States.
This $6 billion commitment strengthens energy security—and national security—across the region. We are proud to build on the excellent work of Secretary Burgum, Secretary Wright, and the National Energy Dominance Council.
When the United States, Albania, and Greece work together, this region becomes more connected, more secure, and more prosperous.
”
The agreement is considered an important step toward diversifying energy sources in the region and strengthening cooperation between the United States, Albania, and Greece.
