Prime Minister Edi Rama tonight congratulated Muslim believers on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
Rama shared images from the celebration at the Grand Mosque of Tirana and wrote, “Blessed day, bright night. Happy Eid al-Adha.”
Today, believers performed the Eid prayer on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard in Tirana.
The Albanian Muslim Community announced that hafiz Enes Hyka opened the ceremony with Quran recitations.
Afterward, the head of the Albanian Muslim Community, Bujar Spahiu, delivered a greeting message.
Next, Deputy Chairman Taulant Bica gave a lecture, while Bujar Spahiu led the Eid prayer ceremony.
In addition, Tirana Mufti Bilal Teqja delivered the Eid sermon.
The Albanian Muslim Community also announced that it hosted traditional Eid receptions at its headquarters from 09:00 to 12:00.
Eid al-Adha symbolizes the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim. The holiday also connects to major events in Islamic history, including the rebuilding of the Kaaba, the Hajj pilgrimage, and the origin of the name “Muslim.”
